The big news this week is that Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek ski resorts are both opening early – on Wednesday, November 14, and Saturday, November 17, respectively! Vail Mountain had been set to open on Saturday and Beaver Creek the following Wednesday.
Paid parking at the Vail lots starts on Friday, November 16, so that also means initial free parking for skiers. Click to learn more about the parking situation.
Weather will remain clear and mostly in the 40s through Saturday, with some snow predicted for Saturday evening. Then temperatures dip into the 30s next week. At the time of this writing, five days of snow were predicted in the 10-day forecast. Predictions change daily, however, so keep checking back for the most up-to-date look ahead.
With that in mind, here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.

Planning Your Ski Vacation
La Tour Restaurant & Bar in Vail Village is a foodie's dream, with quality meal options for every taste. When I got engaged, we had a celebratory parents breakfast there, and everyone loved it! Plus, this Vail restaurant has lots of gluten-free options. Reservations are recommended as this is a popular dining establishment. Click here to reserve your spot.
Staying in Beaver Creek? Then consider dining at Splendido at the Chateau. Zagat says this restaurant is "epitome of the Beaver Creek experience." And, it is! The menu features Colorado-sourced ingredients whenever possible, live music is featured every night, and a sommelier is employed on site.
Check out a list of Happy Hours and Dining Promotions here.
In other news, Vail Valley's air service to Eagle, Colorado, just added more flights! Click here to read more.
