Springtime Festivities Abound with Taste of Vail, Spring Back to Vail

By Caitlin Row | Monday, April 1, 2019

There's a lot of fun going on through the month of April. Taste of Vail festivities are happening this weekend, and Spring Back To Vail events, including free live music, are coming up April 11 through 14.

Vail Mountain is set to close Sunday, April 21, and Beaver Creek will close a week earlier on Sunday, April 14. Snowpack is hanging on at higher elevations so there's still plenty of time to get some turns in before the season ends. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Vail extended the season, but we can only wait and see. Breckenridge Ski Resort now plans to be open through Memorial Day Weekend, conditions permitting.

Places all over town are offering end-of-season deals. If you're in the market for a new pair of snow pants, or even skis, now's the time to get out there and shop!

Here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.

Vail Events On Tap

Taste of Vail's Grand Tasting & Auction, the festival's main event, is Saturday, April 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort. Organizers call this a "wine and culinary spectacle" not to be missed. It includes an auction and reserve tasting.

Taylor Kundolf will perform live music at Splendido on Beaver Creek on Saturday and Sunday nights through April 21.

Taylor James Frederick will perform live music at Shakedown Bar in Vail Village on Sunday through Tuesday, April 7 through 9.

The Western Colorado Outdoor & Sportsman Expo is Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13, at the Fairgrounds in Eagle. Mark your calendars!

Looking ahead to summer, the Whistle Pig Vail summer 2019 lineup will include the Trey Anastasio Band on August 12 and 13. Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 5, and cost $55 to $68.
