Storm Watch Could Mean Big Snow Finally for Vail and Beaver Creek

By Caitlin Row Stoner | Tuesday, January 9, 2018

At the time of this writing, a winter storm watch was placed on Vail, calling for 8 to 16 inches before the weekend, with more possible at higher elevations. If this storm is for real, it's a pretty big deal for snow-deprived Vail and Beaver Creek. We already received about 6 inches of fresh snow over the weekend, so this will definitely be helpful to the resorts. Pray for snow, folks, and check here for an updated weather forecast.

I was out skiing at Beaver Creek after the weekend storm. Though terrain was still limited, we skied some pockets of powder. It was a beautiful day, enjoyed by many.

With any luck, Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts will open more lifts and runs for the weekend.

With that in mind, here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.
