Powder Day Transforms Vail Valley into Winter Wonderland

By Caitlin Row Stoner

Last weekend gifted us the best ski conditions of the season, so far, and Weather.com says more snow is on the way. That's good news for visitors and locals alike hoping to get out on the mountain in February.

I found myself skiing through knee-deep powder at Beaver Creek last Sunday after the storm. My fingers are crossed that Colorado's dry spell is for the most part over.

For visitors who don't wish to ski or snowboard, I suggest considering a snowmobile tour with Nova Guides. Located up toward Leadville on forest service land, this alpine outfitter offers snowmobile tours throughout the Camp Hale-historic area. Groups explore with skilled guides through snowy terrain up to 12,500 feet up.
