Vail Valley Welcomes Snow, Burton U.S. Open and Much More This Week

By Caitlin Row Stoner

The Vail Valley is known for its bountiful spring skiing, and at this point I believe March will be a solid month. At the time of this writing, more snow is on the books for Wednesday, February 28, and Sunday, March 4. We've had solid snowfall all February.

Temperatures are significantly warmer this week than last week, however. Mostly 40-degree weather is predicted, with some dips into the 30s heading into next week. Check back for more up-to-date weather predictions this weekend.

This past weekend I had my best day on the mountain, thus far, at Vail Mountain. Colder temperatures (low 20s) preserved recent snowfall, resulting in some majorly good powder pockets. Blue Sky Basin was my favorite spot on the mountain.

With that in mind, here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.
