Make Outdoor Dining a Priority This Summer in Vail

By Caitlin Row | Tuesday, May 7, 2019

We may still have periodic snow in the forecast, but summertime in Vail is just around the corner (I promise). To fully enjoy our fleeting (and thus all the more magical) Vail summer lifestyle, make outdoor dining a top priority June through August.

Here are four top picks, courtesy of Everything Vail Valley.

La Tour Restaurant & Bar

122 E. Meadow Drive, Vail

La Tour Restaurant & Bar in Vail Village offers ideal summertime patio seating. It's the perfect place to enjoy Sunday brunch with a small group. (FYI: Brunch at La Tour only happens during the summer and only on Sundays.) Enjoy Bananas Foster French Toast or Eggs Benedict while you're there.

While you're in the area: Head over to the Squash Blossom, a fine-jewelry store in the heart of Vail Village. Shop for yourself or someone special!

Pepi's Bar & Restaurant

231 E. Gore Creek Drive, Vail

The deck at Pepi's Bar & Restaurant is iconic to Vail Village in summer; it's a place to see and be seen. Plus, it's dripping with colorful flowers (making it a great backdrop for memorable vacation photos). The summertime lunch menu features European specialties like bratwurst and wiener schnitzel, plus American fare like burgers and club sandwiches.

While you're in the area: Head over to Eye Pieces of Vail before lunch for a new pair of sunglasses! There are two stores in the village.

Maya, Modern Mexican Kitchen

126 Riverfront Lane, Avon

Maya, located within The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, features an outdoor terrace with a full-service bar. Enjoy views of Eagle River and Beaver Creek Mountain while dining on elevated Mexican-fusion cuisine. Maya offers 100-plus agave-based spirits and house-infused tequilas! Its classic guacamole is delicious and made tableside.

While you're in the area: Check for recreation and events happening nearby.

The Rose

97 Main Street, Suite W, Edwards

The Rose may be off the beaten track, but it's worth it. This small restaurant, located within the Riverwalk shopping area, doesn't take reservations. Pop over to Main Street Grill or Woody's for a drink while you wait for your table. The outdoor seating area features a lovely summer-dining ambiance, especially after dark. Order the Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer, then try the Ramen Bowl.

While you're in the area: Check out Rocky Mountain Silver & Beads. It's located in the same Riverwalk shopping area! This shop specializes in Colorado artists, beads and exquisite jewelry (think pears and turquoise).

And with that ...

We'll see you in Vail!
