Enjoy Lots of Events and a Little Autumn Color in Vail this Week

By Caitlin Row | Monday, August 20, 2018

It's not even September yet and small pops of autumn color are appearing on the hills and mountainside. I love this time of year!

Temperatures are cooling, and that's a relief after a hotter than normal summer. At the time of this writing, I am comfortably wearing a long-sleeved shirt and could possibly don a lightweight jacket. Afternoons are still warm, but temperature highs are mostly in the 70s these days. A mix of thunderstorms, sunshine and clouds is predicted through the weekend. After a dry summer, we've been experiencing almost daily rain, too, which is a relief and hopefully a sign of a wetter winter to come. Click here for the 10-day forecast.

Events are still plentiful this time of year, and farmers markets feature beautiful produce from western Colorado.

With that in mind, here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.
