A Chill is in the Air; Let's Enjoy Fall Weather in Vail Valley While it Lasts!

By Caitlin Row | Tuesday, October 17, 2017

I can feel winter approaching at night. The chill is creeping in as leaves fall from the trees. Vail Valley is entering the final phase of fall before snow really starts falling.

For those leaf-peepers out there, your time to enjoy peak mountain fall color is drawing to a close. My guess is you'll have a few more good weeks, as the trees by my home are all off a sudden pretty bare.

Weather this week is still mild during the day, however. Temperature highs are hovering in the 60s all week until Saturday, October 21, when more snow is predicted to fall. Skies will clear again through next week, through temperatures will likely stay in the 50s. It's getting cooler, folks.

With that in mind, here are my top picks for Vail Valley This Week.
