4 New Vail Valley Businesses

By Tracey Flower | Tuesday, October 8, 2019

It seems like there’s always a new restaurant to try or store to visit in the Vail Valley. Here are a few businesses that opened up shop in the last few months. Check one out this weekend!

Hygge Life Café

41149 U.S. Highway 6, Avon
(303) 725-0431

Is it redundant to call the Hygge Life Café – hygge being a Danish word that literally means cozy – cozy? Probably. But, alas, this extension of the Scandinavian home furnishings store, Hygge Life, is warm and inviting, making it worthy of its name. This is the place to unwind and unplug – seriously, they purposefully don’t have WiFi in order to encourage real-life connections. Come here to read or have a conversation or even to just sit and sip a cup of tea. Check out their website to learn more.

Drunken Goat

56 Edwards Mill Village Boulevard #104, Edwards
(970) 926-1393

Raise your hand if you think cheese and wine count as a meal (you can’t see me, but I’ve got both hands in the air). If you’re with me on this, then Drunken Goat is the place for you. Don’t worry, if you really need something green on the side, they also have stellar salads. Drunken Goat has quickly become known for its welcoming atmosphere and outstanding customer service. This is the kind of place where you might come with your laptop to finish out the workday over a glass of rosé and find yourself staying right through happy hour and into the evening. Check out their website to learn more.

fill & refill

210 Edwards Village Boulevard, Unit B 205, Edwards
(970) 331-34444

Locals might recognize fill & refill from the Vail Farmers Market. This eco-conscious business recently opened a brick and mortar shop in Edwards, making it easier than ever to stock up on sustainable, refillable home and bath products. Here’s how it works: BYO empty bottles (or buy a few at fill & refill), fill them with your favorite eco-friendly products (they have lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap and more), weigh your products and pay. You can also call in an order, and they’ll get it ready for pick-up. Visit their website to learn more.

Katch of the Day

228 Broadway Street, Eagle
(970) 328-9281

This beautiful little wine bar and market opened a few weeks ago in downtown Eagle. They have a selection of wine, beer and healthy snacks, plus a shop with unique and vintage gift items and home furnishings. Check out their grand opening celebration this weekend, October 11 and 12. From 4 to 9 p.m. each day they’ll have drink specials, live music, raffles and other treats. Visit their website to learn more.
